Gideon's Bakehouse is located at Disney Springs. They offer cookies, pieces of cake, and cookie bites. Gideon's is most famous for their half pound cookies. The flavors different from month to month, but their yearly flavors are the Original Chocolate Chip, Triple Chocolate, Pistachio Toffee, Cookies and Cream, and Peanut Butter Crunch. Every month they bring around a new cookie. For September, the cookie flavor is Lemon Poppy Seed.
The grand opening for Gideon's was back in January, but every time I went to Disney Springs, the line to get in always deterred me away. I finally made a trip dedicated to just Gideon's Bakehouse. I went on a rainy Tuesday afternoon and despite there being little to no crowd throughout the rest of Disney Spring, there was still a line for the shop. It took me about 15 minutes to get my cookies. The inside of the store was kind of cool but I was expecting more. It was like a little victorian library. I bought the Original Chocolate Chip and Triple Chocolate. Before I tried the cookies, I was skeptical if whether or not it deserved the hype everyone gave it. After trying it I can say that I am all aboard Gideon's train. The thickness of the cookie leaves the inside to have a doughy texture and being covered in chocolate chips left the outside crunchy; a perfect duo. I will definitely be going back. There is only one little thing. All the cookies are made around and with tree nuts. I have a small allergy to tree nuts so it made me a little worried to try it, but I was fine.
