The Universal's Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store, located next to The Mummy, opened up to the public on Friday. The opening of the store brought a huge variety of new treats. There are a total of 27 differently decorated sweets, but if you want all the options, I suggest you come early because some desserts sell out. According to a team member, the cookie dough balls are the most popular. The treats I bought were the Frankenstein Cake for $8.00 and the HHN 30th Cupcake for $6.00. The first one I tried was the cupcake, I would rate it a 5 out of 10. The 30th topping was fondant and it was just bland. Then, there was too much icing, but the cake part was excellent as it was nice
and moist however, I wouldn't suggest getting it.
If you are looking for something chocolatey, get the Frankenstein Cake. I would rate the Frankenstein Cake a 10/10. It's everything I expected the cupcake to be. The outside is a hard chocolate coat and inside is two round chocolate cakes with icing in the middle. It was a perfect mix of icing, chocolate, and frosting. If you want to try something more unique, my suggestion is getting the Pumpkin Cocoa Bomb, which is a chocolate capsule with pumpkin spice which is then put in a cup of hot chocolate. Overall, the treats from the HHN Tribute store are a perfect photo op with most of them tasting great and I'm definitely going to return for more sweet treats.
